Jennifer Gomez

Certifications: CrossFit Level 2 Trainer

Hometown: The Bronx, NY

Coach Jen aka “JGO” has no athletic experience outside of CrossFit. Growing up with two brothers helped shape her into somewhat of a tomboy, bravely taking on challenges and activities that kept her active. After not getting medical treatment from a fall as a teenager (while playing flag football), in 2008 and 2012 she underwent three surgeries for two ACL tears and a medial meniscus tear in her left knee.

Determined to be proactive about her health, in the summer of 2013 upon completion of her Master of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design, Jen decided to make a serious change in her fitness regimen. She stumbled upon friends who were talking about CrossFit online, and found a new box near her parents home in The Bronx, CrossFit SoBro. In 2014 she became a CrossFit Level 1 trainer and joined the coaching team there, focusing on development of their events, social media, and Foundation’s Beginner’s Course. She’s competed in local events such as Flex on the Beach, Flex in the City and has served as a judge In 2015 and 2016 CrossFit Games East Regional.
