Coach Kevin is the newest coach on Team Equis. His athletic career started with Football, as an offensive and defensive lineman at Alfred E. Smith High School in The Bronx and later at Morrisville State College. He is no stranger to hard work and dedication! As a coach, he is focused and attentive but in real life he loves anime, reading Manga, and being outdoors on his bike or hiking. Kevin is currently in the academy to become a Police Officer.
How did you fall in love with CrossFit?
I fell in love with CrossFit in 2016. I was introduced to the concept that no matter how good you are at something, you are most definitely going to come across something that you’re NOT good at. A challenge is always going to present itself to you no matter what the workout is. That’s what sold me – the variety of unexpected workouts and challenges that are going to leave you wanting to overcome any obstacle that is in your way.
What is your favorite type of WOD? Least favorite?
My favorite type of WOD is anything short and fast – Elizabeth or Fran are fun and get the job done. My least favorite type of WOD would have to be anything that takes 30 minutes or longer. For example, Kelly is a long workout that is fun but it’s not something to be taken lightly; trust me I know from experience! 😅.
What is your favorite movement?
My favorite movement would have to be Rowing. I would row all day if I could – just put some R&B/Soul on the track and that sounds like a good day to me.
What is the one food you could not live without?
Ohh peanut butter for sure, peanuts are my life!
